Lyoto Machida may be wearing a t-shirt designed by Silver Star when he enters the octagon this Saturday night at UFC 104, but on his head he will be wearing a hat by Jaco clothing designed specifically for him for this event (he will actually be wearing two hats – one for the weigh-in and one for the main event). The two hats are fairly similar with the weigh-in hat having a white front and the walkout hat having a black front. Both hats feature the Bony Acai juice logo (one of Machida’s sponsors) on the front, the Jaco “tenacity” symbol embroidered on the back, and Machida’s own logo on the side. The hats are made of 63% polyester, 34% cotton, and 3% spandex.

Round 5 announced today the initial 6 members of its new Ultimate Collection series under the UFC brand. Included in the first round of figurines include Georges St. Pierre, Chuck Liddell, Kenny Florian, Clay Guida, Lyoto Machida and Rashad Evans.

Today Silver Star announced that they will be adding Lyoto Machida to their quick expanding roster of  sponsored fighters.

Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida will defend his light heavyweight championship under a Silver Star sponsorship in UFC 104 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, October 24, 2009.

Machida (15-0-0) who won the light heavyweight champion title in UFC 98, will represent Silver Star in the octagon with a signature walkout tee as he defends his crown against Mauricio “Shogun” Rua (18-3-0) in the co-feature event.

“Silver Star is built for champions and Machida is a true champion in and out of the ring,” said Silver Star owner, Luke Burrett. “Machida sets the bar high, and is someone MMA fans can look up to.”

This is the official Bad Boy MMA t-shirt that Lyoto wore during his championship fight against Rashad Evans where Machida claimed the title by knocking out Evans in the second round. The t-shirt bares logos from his long time sponsor Bony Acai and his latest sponsor, Lugz who have certainly stepped into the sponsorship game at the right time. The tee also sports the new Lyoto Machida logo.

Alas, the long awaited battle between two of the top Brazilian fighters in the UFC, Lyoto Machida and Thiago Silva. Both fighters are undefeated and it will be a brawl to see who will remain on top.
