Several years ago during a trauma surgery, an orthopaedic surgeon discovered an interesting way to make a unique type of jewelry out of the hardware he used to reconstruct broken bones.
Testing his idea, Dr. Mike Crovetti created a ring from the surgical material and wore it for years. People took notice to the ring the Doc wore and were amazed of how surgical plates can be quite charming in the form of jewelry.
Carrying out his market research for years, Dr. Mike knew it was time to take his idea mainstream. Teaming up with former MLB “Rookie of the Year” Marty Cordova and Anthony Bonifazio, the Skeletal Metal dream was born.
All Skeletal Metal jewelry is made from stainless steel surgical plates. Rings and bracelets are available in black and brushed steel. There is a special edition pink SKM ring available to help raise awareness of breast cancer in which 20% of all proceeds go to breast cancer research.
