Certainly Big Nog. No other man has as much heart as he does. He’s a real- life Rocky Balboa; an underdog throughout his life, whether as a child battling with the truck incident or as a fighter battling in the ring/cage.

Never cocky, always humble, always friendly, always puts up a good fight…he’s a true warrior. If you’re not a fan of Big Nog, then you’re saying you dislike the epitome of the human spirit. I HAVE to root for him because there’s nothing to not like about him either as a fighter or an inspirational figure.

    WAR BIG NOG!

The Minotauro shirt, b/c it looks almost as slick as the half-guard sweep-to-guillotine-choke he pulled on Tim Sylvia.

I’d like to win t he Nogueira shirt, for a few reasons.
    1. It’s Nogueira. He’s is, in my mind the greatest champion of all time. Gutsy, humble and he never gives up.
    2. They (whomever they may be) never marketed his old Pride days shirt with a Minotaur on it and I wanted one bad enough to stab someone for it.
    3. It has a freaking minotaur on it, which is, well awesome. Awesome because, I love both Greek mythology and Dungeons & Dragons. Thats how I roll.

So, in summation, if I were to win this shirt, by wearing it, I could represent MMA fans, Nogueira, Greek Mythology and Dungeons & Dragons all at the same time. Has anything so sweet ever occurred? I don’t think so.

I’d like to win the Nog shirt because I can’t afford tickets to UFC 102 and from what I understand they’re not selling very well anyway. Might be the first and last time they come to Portland.

    Big Nog Nogueira

Not even a truck can defeat Nogueira. He is the Randy Couture of Brazil. The toughest Brazilian. His legacy is already legendary. He is one of the reasons why BJJ is still a skill set to be reckon with in MMA. No one can forget Nogueira vs Cro Cop. This is why they call him Minotuaro, he is a beast.

I would love to win a Thiago Silva shirt because his story and fighting style inspires me. His spirit and dedication has taken him from humble beginnings to the top of the sport. He refused to let adversity, in the form of either his rough childhood or his setback in the octagon, deter him from his goal of being the world’s best, and that’s what being a fighter is about, win or lose.

He is also an excellent example and great teacher and I would do whatever i can to support him in his teaching even buying his cool T’s but it would be awesome to wear this T shirt and make all my friends go out and buy it.

As a huge fan of Antonio Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira, I greatly appreciate the opportunity to win one of his shirts by way of this competition. If I am one of the lucky ones to be selected, I would wear the shirt religiously and would sport it with pride.

I consider Nogueira to be one of my favorite fighters in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts for multiple reasons.

First and foremost, on a talent perspective, he is at the top of his game and few at any weight class can state they have as much natural and hard earned ability as “Big Nog”. He is the combination of hard work, dedication and talent. Coming up in the ranks in this sport, while training with camps of talented competitors (both at Brazilian Top Team and later at Black House), Nogueira always seems to be the name who stands out the most and by all accounts is the guy who sets the bar for his star teammates to follow.

When discussing accomplishments, you would be hard pressed to find anyone in the game with Nogueira’s credentials: earning a black belt in both Judo and Jiu Jitsu; winning the Rings’ King of Kings Tournament Title; being the only person to win both the Pride and the UFC Heavyweight Titles; being Pride’s first ever Heavyweight champion.. The list could go on and on, and I know I’m not doing Nogueira enough justice by leaving his other accomplishments out, however if I were to continue on, this post would be a non-stop citation of what he’s done and who he has beaten in this sport. 32 wins against top of the line competition speaks it all.

With all this said, despite being a legend, and one of the sport’s all time pound – for – pound greats, he conducts himself with dignity, pride and class all across the board. It’s rare, if ever, you hear Nogueira trash talk an opponent, or conduct himself post-fight with anything but 100 percent professionalism. In an era of foul mouthed, trouble starting athletes, Nogueira is the type of person I can introduce my seven year old daughter to as a role model, someone for HER to look up to, as I do. I honestly think that Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira is all things good with the sports world, and everything that is right in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts.

Another reason why I consider Nogueira a favorite? The guy is the picture of perserverence. Part of what makes me root for him is the fact that he has come back from so much in his career and life to get to this point.

On a fighting perspective, this guy has made a career out of snatching victory from the jaws of defeat, persevering under pressure and winning fights that he seemed on the verge of losing.

Careerwise. he also has bounced back after being ruled out by many following losses, including his most recent one to Frank Mir. As has been the case with a majority of his fights, just when you think you’ve got him down, he somehow finds a way to bounce back better than ever. Tonight, he yet again proved that you can beat him, but you will never fully stop him from coming back or getting to the top of the mountain one way or the other.

Lastly, if you want to talk people who have overcome the worst of the worst, once again Nogueira’s the name you want to look at in admiration. At the young age of 11, he nearly had his life ended, when he was struck by a vehicle. This accident put him in a coma for four days and caused him to be hospitalized for 11 months. It also caused him to lose a rib and part of his liver, which would have kept most people forever sidelined athletically. Yet, Nog overcame this adversity and has become one of MMA’s biggest stars and greatest ambassadors, when realistically he was lucky to remain alive.

Class, dignity and perserverence.. These are traits that I try to follow in my own life, and look to Nogueira as a role model to follow my life after.

Why do I wish to win the Nogueira shirt? Because I want to sport with pride the shirt of a gentleman I consider to be all things good in life and in the sport of MMA, but most of all a gentlemen I consider to be one of my idols.

Thank you again for the opportunity to compete for this prize.

To put it simply, I would love to win the Nogueira t-shirt because he’s one of my favorite fighters and the shirt is just awesome. While watching him walk out last night at UFC 102, one of the first things I said was, “Holy crap. I want that shirt.” Also, my birthday is on September 19, so this could be sort of an early birthday gift. Talk about an awesome birthday gift.
